ROCKI GORMAN
There is something magical about Santa Fe. Maybe it is the mountains that surround the city or the scents that flow through the air at any given season. One thing is certain – Santa Fe does have its fair share of artist and designer owned galleries sprinkled throughout Old Town and along Canyon Road. My gallery is a jewel box filled with unusual one-of-a-kind creations as well as my “usual suspects” of handcrafted American made jewelry.
I was only seven years old when I sold my first necklace in my parents’ boutique, located in of all places, Bayonne, New Jersey. My love of the Southwest began decades ago when I took a trip with my parents on Route 66 to visit my family living in Las Vegas. As we toured New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada, I fell in love with the colors, shapes and stones used to create Indian Jewelry. My father began mining turquoise in Tonapah, Nevada. As my family headed back home, he traded with the local dealers and brought back quality handcrafted Indian Jewelry to sell in New Jersey.
My love of stone cutting carved a path for me. After moving to New Mexico 26 years ago, I grew into one of the top designers in the Southwestern venue and have continued to inspire, create and design contemporary jewelry crafted by Native Americans. My eye for color combinations has brought me to the forefront of Southwestern jewelry. I help support several Navajo families continue their rich silversmithing heritage, while keeping designs modern and fun.
Today my jewelry can be seen on celebrities, dignitaries and royalty around the world. When in Santa Fe you’ll want to take a moment to visit my gallery.
Until our Paths Cross Again . . . May you Walk In Beauty.
